New! Construction Workers – Green Card

We now offer the Lantra Level 1 Award in health & safety in a construction environment. This qualification will allow you to gain the green card but you must also have taken and passed the Health & Safety test (touch screen multi-choice) to be able to apply for the green card.

This qualification is suitable for learners wishing to develop knowledge and understanding in health and safety and is ideally suited to operators who wish to achieve Fencing Industry Skills Scheme (FISS)/Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) green card status within a construction/fencing environment. It will prepare learners for further learning and training. It is also designed to prepare learners for employment.

This Qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding in health and safety in a construction/fencing environment, enabling them to work effectively and efficiently in the workplace. It also is a route to achieving a FISS/CSCS green card. It will suit a number of different needs, enabling those who are successful to continue and complete further training and/or assessment within construction industries, including progression to an Award, Certificate or Diploma at the same level and or higher level Qualifications or progression in the workplace. This Qualification is available for learners aged 16+

The qualification is assessed by a multiple choice question paper that is externally marked by Lantra Awards. Learners wishing to obtain the FISS/CSCS green operator card will still have to take the CSCS Health and Safety touch screen test. Green Card (Industry Accreditation – Standard) This card is for fencing/construction operatives employed in general site work under the supervision of a lead fence installer.

How is this achieved? The card is gained through Industry Accreditation only, so applicants must be employed in general site work. Learners must complete the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (QCF) and pass the CS Operative Health and Safety touch-screen test. How long is this valid for? The card is valid for five years. The card is renewable upon application, providing the requirements are met.
